Wine doesn’t like to get too hot or too cold, so when we see that local temperatures aren’t ideal we take extra precautions to keep your wine safe. Any ground shipments that are likely to take longer than three days to arrive are shipped via temperature-controlled shipping. This means that instead of sending your wine directly to a UPS hub near us, it is sent to a UPS near you in a refrigerated truck to keep it at an ideal temperature. This way your wine is protected from the elements for as long as possible. UPS completes the last leg, which typically takes 1-2 days.
Unfortunately, you won’t have any tracking information while the order is in the temperature-controlled truck because it is not yet in the UPS system. This can take 7-10 days, and during that time your order will show as pending. Once your wine arrives at the UPS facility, you’ll start to see the tracking information update.
If you are in a hurry, want a little more visibility into your delivery, or want to make sure it is protected from the elements from door to door, we highly recommend that you choose air shipping with ice packs. Our average price for shipping 6 bottles through air shipping methods is $30-45, and in most cases is only $20 when 12 bottles are shipped.
